Class 59 at Westbury 59002 "Yeoman Enterprise" propels its train into a siding at Westbury on 16 June 1990. The Class 59s were originally built for quarry operator Foster Yeoman to run their own stone trains from the Mendips to Southeast England.
Class 89 at Leeds The unique Class 89 locomotive 89001 "Avocet" was built as a prototype for both express passenger and heavy freight trains. No further locos of the type were built, and the sole example only spent brief periods in passenger service. The photo shows it at Leeds in May 1990, on an evening service to London (King's Cross)
Class 307 at Leeds 307130 stands at Leeds in between duties on 28 August 1990. A number of Class 307 units were transferred from the London, Tilbury & Southend line to operate Leeds - Doncaster stopping services following electrification, until new Class 321s were delivered.
Class 56 at Sharlston 56123 "Drax Power Station" at Sharlston, between Pontefract and Wakefield, with a train of empty 'merry-go-round' coal hoppers, in May 1990.
Class 141, Barnsley 141113 arrives at Barnsley on 16 April with the 13.15 service from Huddersfield to Sheffield.
