A pair of Class 365 electric units forming the WAGN 18.19 to London (King's Cross) at Peterborough on 10 August. These trains were still in the colours of British Rail's Network SouthEast business, some 10 years after privatisation.

Hull Trains introduced Class 222 'Meridian' trains to their Hull - London services during 2005. This is 222103 at Howden, on the 18.30 Hull to King's Cross, on 4 September.
Class 334 at Larkhall The Larkhall branch in Lanarkshire reopened in December 2005, having closed as part of the Beeching cuts in 1965. On 28 December, 334 004 is seen at Larkhall, having arrived with the 11.31 from Dalmuir.
