BC Rail 07.30 North Vancouver to Prince George service
stands at Lillooet station on 4 June 1986, formed of
three 'Budd' railcars. The scheduled passenger service
over this highly scenic route through British Columbia has now
ceased, but some "Rocky Mountaineer" tourist trains
make this journey. |

For many years BC Rail operated a steam service during the
summer along the coastal route between Vancouver and Squamish.
Known as the "Royal Hudson", the train is pictured
here at Squamish, with former Canadian Pacific locomotive no.
2860 at the head, on 6 June 1986. |

The "Canadian" transcontinental service from
Vancouver to Toronto and Montreal is seen here at Field, west
of Banff, in the Rockies, on 9 June 1986. Four locomotives are
powering the train, the leading one being 'FP9A' class
no.6309. The "Canadian" now takes a more northerly
route through Jasper. |
